Welcome New Dental Patients

Due to the nature of our ongoing efforts to ensure the highest quality of patient safety, we do have some extra steps you’ll be asked to follow as you prepare for your appointment.

1. When you arrive at our Burke dental office, please wait inside your vehicle until one of our friendly team members comes to greet you.
2. We’ll then check your temperature. If all is good, you’ll now be prepared to enter the office. (Note: under normal circumstances, you’ll be given a tour of our facility.)
3. Next, we’ll take you to our treatment room for a conversation and examination.
4. We want to see what’s going on inside your mouth on so many levels, so we start by taking some intraoral and extraoral photos.
5. We’ll take a few minutes to assess your periodontal or gum health.
6. We’ll ask about your x-ray history and most likely capture some digital x-rays of your smile.
7. We spend time (sometimes one to one and a half hours) getting to know you as a person, not just another patient in the dental chair in need of Northern Virginia dental care.
8. Generally, dental hygiene cleanings are conducted at a separate visit as we like to create a more one-on-one patient experience during your first appointment.

Maybe we do things a little differently at our dental office in Burke, but it’s all done with you, your health, and your smile in mind. We take all the time you’ll give us to understand your logic and your goals for your oral and overall health.

Your Sunshine Dentists accept most PPO insurances and are happy to offer a complimentary benefits check. (If you ever have any questions about how much something costs or understanding your dental benefits, don’t hesitate to call Angelica!) At this time, we are not accepting Medicare and Medicaid payments. We offer an assignment of benefits where you pay your portion upfront for your treatment, and then we get reimbursed by insurance. Our office will never leave you to try and maneuver through the incredibly confusing world of dental insurance coverage alone. We’re happy to file for you!

If you and your family are without dental insurance, we urge you to ask us about our in-house dental plan from Plan Forward. It’s an affordable way to get the care you need with discounts on select dental services you want. We also offer a discount to our valued senior customers.
