Piyanan (Ying)
Dental Hygienist

Ying is a graduate of Northern Virginia Community College and George Mason University who has been working in dentistry since 2009. She’s been a member of our team since 2017. At Sunshine Dentists, Ying is responsible for all clinical dental hygiene-related duties including maintaining patients’ optimal oral and overall health through cleaning, scaling/root planing, periodontal maintenance, fluoride treatments, and sealants. Ying also enjoys educating patients about oral health and oral health-related illnesses. She takes it upon herself to remain up-to-date with new information about oral health and new dental treatments or techniques. Ying says being part of our team is unique because both Dr. Donohue and Dr. Ellis have very good hearts. They are conservative in their approach to treatments and not driven by money. Ying is persistent, a fast learner, reliable, honest, and has a soft touch. She’s volunteered at the Thai temple and offered her dental services for Mission of Mercy trips. Originally from Thailand, Ying is fluent in both Thai and English. She’s married and enjoys singing karaoke and watching movies with her husband on the weekends. Her favorite hobbies are arts, crafts, and cake decorating.
